B & C: Six Month Update

Well, half a year has come and gone in a blink of the eye.  Our mornings and evenings our rushed, days super short, but I wouldn't change a thing!

Weight/Length: I know they're twins, I know they're identical, but it still amazes me how close they are with their measurements.  It's like they're one person :)

Bree
Weight - 14lbs, 13.5oz
Length - 23.82"
Head - 15.8"

Cami
Weight - 14lbs, 14.5oz
Length - 24.41"
Head - 16"

Eat: These girls like to eat.  Just like their brother did.  They take 4 bottles a day with 8oz in each bottle.  They also eat dinner every night with Jamison.  It's nice for us to all be sitting around the table for a meal.  We've moved on from purees and they've had chunks and spears of carrots, green beans, sweet potato, peas and banana.  Bananas are proving to be a crowd favorite over here.  At their check-up yesterday, their pediatrician said that we could start giving them a sippy cup of water and start giving them eggs, yogurts, cheeses and meats.  WHAT??  I don't remember any of this from when Jamison was a baby and according to her, a lot of the recommendations have changed.  I'll probably hold off on the meats but the others will be fun to try.

Sleep: Still sleeping through the night, still making Mommy and Daddy super happy with that!  They still go to bed at 7pm and I wake them up for the day at 6am.  They take 2 naps a day (8am-10am and 12pm-2pm) and we've pretty much weaned off of the 3rd nap that was from 4pm - 6pm.  They both are able to be just put into their cribs which does make naptime/bedtime a lot easier but I do miss rocking them.  Bree goes in and immediately puts her thumb in her mouth and she's out.  Cami needs her paci during bedtime and has just now started to let us rock her again but it has to be pitch dark in their room.  She'll go down either way but I'm loving the sweet cuddles we're able to get again.

Bree: She is a pretty chill baby.  Cries when she's tired or hungry, but is typically watching and observing.  Probably judging but whatever.  She loves to steal all of Cami's toys.  Even if she's playing with the exact same toy she is, she will push it to the side and crawl over to Cami to take hers.  She has said "dada" or a version of it but it made Justin so happy.  So far that's 2/3 - we'll see what Cami "says" first!  She is a big Daddy's girl and lights up at the sound of his voice always.  Bree is a big (army) crawler.  She's everywhere.  She loves to crawl over to Jamison and touch him.  She'll just grab at his shirt or touch his arm.  It drives him nuts and I think she knows that.  She holds her own bottle, is sitting up with support, grabbing for toys and moving them from hand to hand, grabbing for food on her high chair and babbling like crazy.

Cami: She's a little more high maintenance than Bree but not too bad at all.  She is all smiles all the time.  Basically you can just look at her and those lips start curling up.  She's gotten into this habit of laying on her side while holding her bottle.  I'm assuming it's for comfort but her milk gets everywhere.  I have to put her back on her back a lot but she just always revert to her side.  Oh well!  Cami is starting to crawl too but she's not as fast as Bree.  She gets frustrated a lot because she really wants to crawl on all fours but all she ends up doing is rocking back and forth.  So, the good ole army crawling is good for now.  Cami can be a little diva at time and she doesn't like to miss a thing.  Their morning naps are always perfect and they sleep the whole time.  The noon nap though, if someone is going to get up first, it's always Cami.  I think she's realized that she gets extra time with Mommy and Daddy if she wakes up first.  She is also holding her own bottle, sitting up with support, grabbing for toys and moving them from hand to hand, and babbling.  She does not grab food from her highchair very often.  She prefers the hand feeding method.  And holds her hands out so that she doesn't get anything on her.  She is the cleanest after meal times though.

Jamison: This guy.  I love him soooo much.  He's awesome, he's my little buddy and my best friend.  But he's been a bit of a nightmare lately.  Bedtime has been crazy - he gets up a lot, talks to us through the monitor, there have been some tears, etc.  I'm really over it and hoping that we can get him back on track.  He's always been the best sleeper and the last few weeks have just been bad.  Other than that, he's now officially a pottier.  He's done so great with potty training and we're so very proud of him.  Our daycare is amazing and has the best system in place for it.  His birthday is coming up in about 3 weeks and my big boy will be T H R E E!

Mommy/Daddy: I feel like we've been so incredibly busy lately.  There has been a lot going on already this year.  Justin is busy building amazing things. His newest project right now is building a shed in our backyard.  This will free up some space in the garage which is needed.  As for me, my Mom and I have been working on a new business (more to come later).  My Mom also lost her job back in January and she will start watching the girls in April.  Jamison is already going to be moving from Sweet Peas to his new school at that time so we thought it best to take them out all together.  Words cannot even describe the sadness I have knowing that they won't be "growing" up at Sweet Peas with Tracy and Nate.  These are two of the most incredibly caring and loving people to our kids.  But I am very excited for my Mom and the time she's going to get to spend with the girls.  She's an incredible Grandma and I know they will have all the fun with her!

B & C: Four and Five Month Update

Short and Sweet :)

Four Month Stats:
Bree's Weight - 12lbs, 5oz
Cami's Weight - 12lbs, 11.5oz
Bree's Length - 22.64"
Cami's Length - 23.5"
Their head circumference was the same at 15.25".

We see the pediatrician again at 6 months and will have their updated stats then.  I'm guessing they're both above 13lbs now.  Cami possibly over 14lbs as she was 13lbs, 12oz at the doctor's office a few weeks ago.

Eat: They are taking four bottles a day at 7oz each. If they don't get food (purees) for dinner, their last bottle is 8oz. We were able to drop their dream feed (10pm feeding) a few weeks ago too.  Cami typically always finishes her bottles first then glares at Bree like she stole all of her milk until she finishes.

Sleep: The girls go to bed between 7/7:30pm and I get them up about 6/6:15am. In the last few weeks they have gotten to the point where they don't want to be rocked to sleep anymore. This makes me pretty sad but it does make putting two of them down together a lot easier.  Bree immediately puts her thumb in her mouth while Cami needs her paci.  Cami also likes to take said paci out and cry bloody murder until you put it back in. Thankfully that's only once though. They're still taking 3 naps a day: 8-10am, 12-2pm, and 4-6pm. The last nap is not the best which is okay because we'll be dropping that one soon.

In the last two months we:
- Started laughing
- Grabbing for toys
- Celebrated our first Christmas
- Met our first set of twins
- Learned we were identical
- Got our first cold.  First Cami then a week later, Bree.  And lucky big brother got it too!
- Found our feet
- Crawling!!  Bree started and now Cami has started to a little bit.
- Babble
- Mimic
- Tried green beans, peas and carrots

I'm sure there's more but my Momma brain is somewhat fried and I'm already late on updates :)

Jamison started potty training Monday and he's done so well!  He runs to the potty when his timer goes off and so far we've had 3 accidents. We're very proud of him!  Big big thank you to the kids daycare who headed this up. They made this process perfect!

Happy Valentine's Day from my sweet little babes!

B & C: Three Month Update

Three months down y'all.  We're surviving and I'm so glad that I had realistic expectations when it came to life with two babies and a toddler.  Sometimes one, two, or all three are unhappy, but when we get smiles out of those sweet faces, it makes everything right in our little world.

Weight/Length: We go back to the doctor at 4 months so I will know then.  If I had to guess weight - I would say they are close to 11lbs now.

Eat: They are taking 6oz of formula every 4 hours: 6am, 10am, 2pm, and 6pm.  They then get a dream feed at 10pm with 4oz.  They definitely let you know when they're hungry, especially in the morning and when we get home from school.  It normally takes them about 15-20 minutes to finish and I love how they just stare at us the whole time.

Sleep: Thank you God for giving me babies that sleep well!  The girls have been consistently sleeping through the night since about 8.5 weeks.  They were in Rock n Plays during this time but a week later we had to start them in their cribs.  The first few days were a disaster but they're back to sleeping through and it's been great.  Sometimes one of them will randomly wake up at 4am but she goes back to sleep after a few minutes.  They both go to bed at 7:30pm and wake up at 6am.  Naps are hit or miss some days but we're working on that :)

Bree: This sweet girl loves to smile.  When she hears her Daddy's voice, she starts grinning ear to ear.  She loves staring at the lamp, standing on our lap (she has freakishly strong legs), playing with her crinkle book and she has started to grab for her toys a lot more on her playmat.  She let's you know when she's tired and as soon as we pop a paci in, she's out in a matter of seconds.  Lately, when she's taking her bottle, she'll hold onto one of my fingers.  It's like she searches it out because the second she grabs it, she will relax just a little bit.  She looks a lot like Justin and Jamison too and even though we finally sent the test out to see if they are identical, I'm pretty sure it will come back fraternal because of how similar she looks to my boys.

Cami: This one smiles with her eyes.  I swear it's like a twinkle in her eye when she smiles and it's just beautiful.  She loves looking at herself in the mirror, playing with her crinkle book and sitting up.  She is also starting to be my back sleeper.  When we had to transition the girls to their cribs, we put them on their tummies.  Jamison slept the same way and we only did this because 1. they can move their heads side to side and 2. they were both rolling over.  She will sometimes flip in the night though and after a few seconds of arm flailing, she relaxes and is fast asleep.  Most nights it takes a little bit for her to get settled. I rock her in her room until she stops being so squirmy and actually falls asleep.  In the process though, she grabs at me with one hand and kind of caresses my chest close to my neck.  I love that part of rocking her to sleep.  And she looks like me - yay!!

Jamison: Still loves them, is still a little crazy, and according to Justin - we fight like children!  This kid drives me insane sometimes.  I love him so much though - his excitement about things makes my heart happy.  He is currently obsessed with Santa Clause - "Santa Clause is coming to town" is his new favorite phrase.  I really miss just taking him places - on icecream dates, dinner dates, to the grocery store, etc.  I need to start doing this one on one stuff with him again.

Momma & Daddy: Life is good :)
